The Port of Vancouver congestion is continuing to rise caused by the disruption caused by wildfires in British Columbia. OTR demand has risen dramatically. Rail backlog at the port remains substantial, with CN rail-bound imports spending over a week on-dock at all of Vancouver’s terminals, according to port data. Not only is the port congested, but there are also delays in current transit rail containers as a backlog is cleared before new bookings will be accepted.
